Project Synopsis

Bloompark were engaged in 2014 to Project Manage the Master Plan (CIV $115m) and Stage 1 (New Learning Hub Project) approval process with NSWDPE via a SSD and delivery of Redlands Senior Campus project. The key issues associated with the project is to deliver the multi staged precinct within a confined and operational site. Stage 1 comprises of a 4 storey world class New Learning Hub housing 4 facilities, shared performance space and breakout areas. Integrated into the structure of basement car parking for 90+ cars, 4,000m2 of green open space on top of the new Music Centre comprising of peripatetic rooms, music classrooms, rehearsal hall, sound studio, band rooms, function spaces and new Pastoral Care offices.

The challenges associated with this project includes the enabling and major works packages to enable construction activities to be undertaken, yet enabling the re-orientation of the whole campus to the north whilst creating an iconic campus image for 21st Century learning. This included the relocation of the Property office/workshop to an adjacent property, design and procurement of temporary accommodation to house the Arts facility and retro fit of two existing properties for use by the Music faculty, all without any disruption to the Redlands school operations.

This has been achieved with high level planning and scrutiny from Bloompark and the key consultants in programming 6 sub phases of enabling works (worth circa $4m) prior to the major sub stages commencing, delivered in 4 separable portions. The client has committed to ensuring the development is sustainable and a truly working new learning hub environment incorporating mix mode conditioning, roof top learning areas, large plan GLA’s, studios, workshops and large open green spaces for collaborative learning.
