Project Synopsis

Bloompark were engaged by Mount Isa Mines to assist the Mining Engineering Division, to Project Manage the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of a new Batch Plant and Slick Line on the George Fisher Mine. This combined project was to realise time, cost and resource refinement, to economise the batching of 2400m3 of shotcrete per month, delivery via a ceramic casing pipe 850m underground, and loading of underground agi’s.

Site selection and major infrastructure upgrades were required to support the new works, including material handling and extensive bulk storage requirements. Upgrades to the delivery point underground were also necessary to ensure a controlled supply of shotcrete and flush out of the new infrastructure, which is to be used throughout day and night shifts within the expansion of L72.

Bloompark’s previous experience of remote site procurement, delivery and installation challenges, assisted the Project Management team and client. For example, continued scheduling delays associated with site specific priority works, and shutdowns.
